This book is about creativity and breaking down the barriers that prevent it. The biggest barrier? It's us. The fearful, lizard-brain humans who don't create because we're too busy grasping for something, anything, that gives us a spot in the great hierarchy of life. If you are a creative person (and all of us are in some way or another), I highly recommend you read this book. Your lizard-brain won't thank you, but I will.

"In addition to whatever help it might offer, Four Thousand Weeks is also just good company; it addresses large, even existential, issues with a sense of humor and an even-keeled perspective. I found that reading it—Burkeman might balk at this particular way of describing it—was a good use of my time." - John Williams, The New York Times

A definite pre-order, can't wait to get nerdy about building entirely different kinds of businesses!

This is my mom's favorite book and a beloved American classic about a girl's coming of age at the turn of the 20th century. It gave me a deeper understanding of what life was really like for so many families struggling to survive at that time, while still feeling hope and connection with the community around them.

This was an engaging and quick read! It’s a thriller version of Yesteryear/trad wife influencer culture. It was different than a lot of thrillers because there was so much to unpack about the emotional toll of choosing this path and what success looks like and costs you. Good read!

Clare Leslie Hall
This was a beautifully written book about a flawed, yet relatable woman who is trying to navigate her way through a life filled with love, loss, and the choices that shape our lives.

Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
This book knocked my socks off. It was such interesting commentary on our society and also just really exciting. I've thought a lot about it since I read it.

Nora Ephron
This book is gold. Nora Ephron wrote Sleepless in Seattle and this collection of essays is both deeply relatable and laugh-out-loud funny.

Lisa Ridzén
This book tells a beautiful story about how people might reflect on and wrestle with their decisions as they approach the end of their life. A client and I had an interesting conversation about how the book landed with our respective book clubs. Her group members are in their 70s and 80s, where mine are in their late 30s to early 50s. The book was unanimously enjoyed, but it was fascinating to hear the different themes that stood out to her group versus mine.

Books
This book is so good for young women finding meaning in their life as they navigate jobs, family, love, and friendships! I know I will be re-reading this as I get older and when I’m looking for more guidance

This is one of my favorite books I've read. I loved hearing the story told through different generations of the same family. It also made want to learn more about the horrors that occurred in China during Mao's revolution.

Virginia Evans
This book is told through a series of letters over a decade. I was impressed with the amount of character development and storytelling could come through in this style, but it was very effective. It's quietly beautiful and a book I will definitely read again.

Helen Simonson
This book told the story of an unlikely friendship between an English military hero and a Pakistani shopkeep. It was a fascinating read to better understand some of the built in prejudges of English culture and how we can work to overcome them in our own lives.
