We stopped here on our way from Portland up the coast and it was so lovely! Gorgeous surroundings with lots of native plants, well designed sections of the gardens to have different experiences, 5 troll sculptures to find, and paths to hike along the river. Highly recommend a stop here to experience the beauty of Maine!

Acadia National Park

Stunning views of the evergreens and bay! There is a beach area, scenic walks along the coastline, or you can go inland a bit and find a range of hikes for different abilities. The Beehive trail is notorious, but I did not attempt that because of my fear of heights. I did that Gorham Mountain Loop trail which was ~3 miles and moderate in intensity. Great views at the top, and then looped around to finish up walking the coast.

At the L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport, ME there is a whole area for customizing their classic Boat 'n' Totes which are still made in Maine. I opted for this large, zip top one, with custom embroidery and a lobster patch. It is SO sturdy with canvas that completely stands up on it's own for easy filling. The zip top folds down inside if you dont want to use it.
